A look at this week’s Post Preps Top 10 for Class 5A, 4A and 3A:

Comment: After posting back-to-back shutouts, Eagles get tough test with unbeaten FFC set to visit. This week: vs. Fountain-Fort Carson, 6 p.m. Thursday.
3. Columbine 5-0 3 W (57-13 vs. Fort Collins)
Comment: Trap game alert: Rebels get a winless but competitive Pomona team before next week’s showdown with Ralston Valley. This week: at Pomona, 6 p.m. Thursday.
4. Ralston Valley 4-1 4 W (22-21 vs. Valor Christian)
Comment: After suffering a pair of heart-breaking losses to Valor last season, Mustangs got their revenge. This week: at Lakewood, 7:30 p.m. Friday.
5. Arapahoe 4-1 5 W (24-0 at Rock Canyon)
Comment: What’s so impressive about Arapahoe? They can beat you in so many ways. Last week, it was defense. This week: at Smoky Hill, 7 p.m. Friday.
6. Grandview 4-1 7 W (35-14 at Pomona)
Comment: Wolves can’t stumble out of the gates like they did last week at Pomona. Eaglecrest is unbeaten and on the rise. This week: vs. Eaglecrest, 7 p.m. Friday.
7. Castle View 5-0 9 W (23-7 vs. Cherokee Trail)
Comment: With just 31 points allowed through five games, Castle View has the look of a contender. This week: vs. Valor Christian, 6 p.m. Thursday.
8. Chatfield 4-1 10 W (45-21 at 4A No. 8 Dakota Ridge)
Comment: QB Jake Jones’ line against Dakota Ridge — 18-of-25 passing, 384 yards and three TDs โ€” was real and it was spectacular. This week: at Arvada West, 7 p.m. Friday.
9. Mountain Vista 4-1 8 Idle
Comment: Then there’s Austyn Modrzewski, who’s thrown for 300-plus yards in two straight and is seemingly on his way to another 3,000-yard season. This week: at ThunderRidge, 7 p.m. Friday.
10. Regis Jesuit 2-3 6 L (47-28 vs. No. 1 Cherry Creek)
Comment: Are there 10 other teams in the state that would be 2-3 after the Raiders’ brutal schedule? Probably not. This week: at Douglas County, 6 p.m. Friday.

Class 4A

1. Palmer Ridge 5-0 1 W (34-12 at Ponderosa)
Comment: Bears’ one-point win over Montrose in Week 1 is the only time they haven’t won by double-digits this season. This week: at Rampart, 1 p.m. Saturday.
2. Erie 4-1 2 W (40-8 at Windsor)
Comment: All the Blake Barnett TDs (16 passing/running) are a given. But just one TD given up by the defense last week? That’s a big step forward.ย  This week: vs. No. 7 Loveland, 7 p.m. Friday.
3. Pueblo West 4-1 3 W (14-0 vs. Far Northeast)
Comment: After splitting pair against 5A squads Fountain-Fort Carson (loss) and Far Northeast (win), league gauntlet awaits. This week: vs. Mesa Ridge, 7 p.m. Friday.
4. Montrose 3-2 4 W (36-14 vs. 3A No. 3 Lutheran)
Comment: Will Red Hawks lose a game between now and their Week 10 showdown with Pueblo West? This week: at Grand Junction Central, 7 p.m. Thursday.
5. Broomfield 3-2 6 W (28-22 vs. Brighton)
Comment: Junior running back Joseph Larsen’s last three games: 70 carries, 519 yards and three touchdowns. This week: ย vs. No. 8 Dakota Ridge, noon Saturday.
6. Heritage 3-2 7 W (42-20 at Rampart)
Comment: Eagles have scored 154 points combined over their last three. This week: vs. Fruita Monument, 6 p.m. Friday.
7. Loveland 4-1 8 W (63-19 at Greeley Central)
Comment: Red Wolves’ response to rare loss to Thompson Valley could not have been more emphatic. This week: at No. 2 Erie, 7 p.m. Friday.
8. Dakota Ridge 3-2 5 L (54-21 vs. 5A No. 8 Chatfield)
Comment: After losing to Littleton rival, Dakota Ridge gets one last chance at statement win before league play starts. This week: at No. 5 Broomfield, noon Saturday.
9. Golden 4-1 9 W (27-12 vs. Palisade)
Comment: The further we get from Demons’ Week 1 loss to Green Mountain, the more it looks like an aberration. This week: at Bear Creek, 7 p.m. Thursday.
10. Thomas Jefferson 5-0 10 W (37-7 vs. Standley Lake)
Comment: The last time TJ started 5-0, Mike Griebel’s Spartans won state title in 2021 spring season. This week: at Vista Peak Prep, 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Class 3A

Comment: What happens first: The Rams score less than 28 points? Or their opponent scores more than six? That’s a toss-up. This week: at Mead, 7 p.m. Thursday.

Comment: The Rough Riders get a well-earned break after gutting out win over Holy Family . This week: Bye.
3. Lutheran 4-1 2 L (36-14 at 4A No. 4 Montrose)
Comment: Everyone should get a week off after spending 48 minutes on the same field with Montrose. This week: Bye.
4. Holy Family 3-1 3 L (34-26 at No. 2 Roosevelt)
Comment: Get through Conifer, and date with Lutheran awaits on the other side. This week: at Conifer, 7 p.m. Friday.
5. Northridge 5-0 5 W (31-21 at Rangeview)
Comment: Unbeaten heading into bye, Grizzlies are well positioned for tough league race against Roosevelt, Thompson Valley and Co. This week: Bye.
6. Durango 4-1 6 W (30-16 at Mead)
Comment: Nobody puts miles on the team bus more than Durango, which follows a trip to Mead with a date against Summit in Frisco next week. This week: Bye.
7. Northfield 4-0 7 W (62-0 at Adams City)
Comment: Nighthawks fell a TD shy of Dolphins-Broncos territory last Friday. This week: at Vista Ridge, 7 p.m. Friday.
8. Lewis-Palmer 4-1 10 W (27-7 vs. Falcon)
Comment: The lone blemish on Rangers’ resume? A loss to 4A No. 1 Palmer Ridge. This week: Bye.
9. Riverdale Ridge 3-1 NR W (28-14 vs. No. 10 Thompson Valley)
Comment: Isaiah Medina to Marcus McFadden (10 catches, 159 yards) was a problem for Thompson Valley last week. This week: at Sierra, 6 p.m. Thursday.
